It is normal to experience mild pain and discomfort at the injection site after your appointments; however, if the pain worsens over time and is persisting despite over-the-counter pain relief, contact your provider for guidance.

To best prepare for your Kybella injections, you should avoid retinol, exfoliants, and shaving creams before your appointment. You should also avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours prior to your appointment, and you should also stop taking any blood thinners or aspirin at least one week prior to your treatment at the discretion of the prescribing physician. Make sure to come to your appointment with a clean, makeup-free face to ensure a smooth and efficient injection process.
You should avoid any extremely hot temperatures such as hot tubs and hot showers for 24 hours post-injection. You should also avoid drinking alcohol and consuming heavy amounts of sodium for at least 3 days after your injection to avoid excess swelling. For at least 24 hours after your treatments, take a break from strenuous exercise and lie on your back with your head elevated when sleeping.
