Fatigue & Tiredness in Palm Beach Gardens
Tiredness that does not improve with rest, an afternoon that flattens you, waking up already depleted. When energy drains slowly it is easy to accept it as your age or your schedule, and easy to be told your results look fine.
Functional fatigue care looks underneath the tiredness at thyroid function, iron and nutrient levels, blood sugar patterns, sleep quality, hormones and inflammation, then builds a plan around what your body actually needs. Results vary from person to person.
What Is Functional Fatigue Care?
Functional fatigue care starts with a question a short appointment often skips: why is your energy low in the first place? Rather than treating tiredness as one problem, your provider reviews your health history, your symptom pattern, your sleep, and lab work chosen for your particular picture.
Fatigue is rarely a single cause. It usually sits where several systems overlap: thyroid and adrenal function, iron and vitamin levels, blood sugar stability, sleep quality, hormones and how well your gut absorbs nutrients. The plan that follows is sequenced around what your testing shows, and adjusted as your body responds.
What Does Fatigue Care Address?
Low energy is easy to normalize, especially when it builds over years and you have quietly reorganised your life around it. Patients often describe waking unrefreshed, an afternoon that flattens them, needing caffeine to function, difficulty recovering from exercise, brain fog, low mood, and being told repeatedly that their bloodwork is fine. Fatigue is rarely one thing, which is why the first appointment spends more time on your history than on your results.
What Are the Benefits of Fatigue Care
Energy sits at the intersection of several systems, so patients usually notice change in more than one place at once rather than in a single symptom. The improvements below are the ones most commonly reported. Individual results vary.
Steadier Daily Energy
Energy that holds through the afternoon rather than dropping off, as nutrient levels, blood sugar stability and sleep quality improve.
More Restorative Sleep
Sleep that leaves you feeling recovered rather than merely rested, often one of the earliest changes patients report.
Clearer Thinking
Better focus and less brain fog, commonly reported once energy becomes more stable through the day.
Better Tolerance for Exercise
Movement that feels possible again, and recovery that does not take several days.
Steadier Mood and Motivation
More even mood across the day, reflecting the close relationship between energy, sleep and hormone balance.
Support for a Healthy Weight
Progress with weight that had felt stuck, as metabolic and hormonal contributors are addressed alongside nutrition.
Functional fatigue care may be a good fit if you are tired in a way that rest does not fix, if you have been told your results look normal but you do not feel well, or if you want to address low energy, brain fog or stubborn weight from the root rather than the surface. It is not a replacement for care you are already receiving, and your provider will never recommend stopping a prescribed medication without consulting the provider who prescribed it.
Frequently Asked Questions
I was told my bloodwork is normal. What would be different here?
Normal reference ranges are wide, and a result can sit inside the range while still being low for you. Your provider reviews your results alongside your symptom pattern and your history rather than in isolation, and may order testing that a standard panel does not include. Everything ordered is reviewed with you, so you understand what was run and what it showed.
Is this the same as being treated for adrenal fatigue?
Adrenal fatigue is a popular term rather than a recognized medical diagnosis, and we do not use it as one. What we do is look at the things that genuinely affect your energy, including thyroid function, cortisol patterns, iron and vitamin levels, blood sugar, sleep and hormones, then address what your testing actually shows.
What kind of testing is involved?
Lab work is chosen based on your history and symptoms rather than ordered as a fixed panel for everyone. General blood work commonly looks at thyroid function, iron levels, vitamin B12 and vitamin D, blood sugar markers and hormone levels. Where your picture calls for it, your provider may add specialty testing: saliva based cortisol testing to see how your stress hormone pattern moves across the day, urine based hormone testing for a fuller hormone picture, or stool testing such as the GI Map to look at the balance of your gut bacteria, markers of inflammation and how well you are absorbing nutrients. Everything ordered is reviewed with you, so you understand what was run and what it showed.
How long before I notice a difference?
Many patients report early improvement within the first few weeks, particularly where a nutrient level was low, while the fuller picture usually builds over roughly three to six months as sleep, nutrition and hormonal changes compound. Results vary from person to person.
Do you offer IV therapy for fatigue?
We do not offer IV therapy. Where testing shows a specific deficiency, support may include vitamin injections such as vitamin D or biotin, and your provider will explain what is being addressed and why.
Is nutrition part of this, and will I be put on a long list of supplements?
Nutrition is central, and it is built around your testing rather than general healthy eating advice. Your plan looks at how you are eating across the day for blood sugar stability, at any nutrients your labs showed to be low, and at foods that may be working against you. Most plans focus on what to add rather than a long list of what to remove. Supplementation is targeted to what your testing showed rather than a standard stack, and your provider will explain what each one is for and how long it is intended to be used.
Can this be combined with other treatments?
Yes. Fatigue care is often run alongside hormone optimization, gut health care or a medical weight loss plan, and your provider will sequence them so they support rather than compete with each other. For appropriate candidates a plan may also include peptide therapy intended to support the body’s own repair and recovery processes. It is not a replacement for care you are already receiving.
Energy That Lasts the Whole Day
You do not have to accept low energy as simply your age or your schedule. Your care is provided by Bianca Somers, PA-C, a nationally certified physician assistant with advanced training in aesthetic medicine, plastic surgery and wellness based care. She reviews your history and your symptom pattern, selects and interprets your testing, and builds your plan with you, adjusting it as your body responds. A consultation is the place to start, and there is no pressure to commit to anything at that visit.
